The Path
The Path is a machinima video which uses the game Minecraft as its medium to explore a person's tendency to do what is expected of them, and avoid straying from a hypothetical "path." When dropped into a world with no explanation and no direction other than a freestanding door, the main character decides to follow the titular "path" of doors, despite there being no indication that this is what they should do, nor that there will be something to find at the end of this road. When ultimately, the main character reaches the end of the road, they are left wondering what they should do next, now that they no longer have a path to follow, and confused as to why they had followed the path all this way in the first place.
In Quiet Moments 2015
In the fall of 2015, I found out that my grandmother was dying. This was not a surprise. It had been a long time coming, and so everyone, even my mother, had accepted this outcome. If anyone had asked, I would have said that I wasn't sad. It was expected and, to be honest, it would be better off for her. Despite all this, whenever I found myself alone and unoccupied, everything would hit me all at once, and I would break down. Even when you can rationalize your feelings and life events, there is still something overwhelming about being left entirely alone with your emotions.
Not Once More 2014
Not Once More is a short story inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven, which uses recursive storytelling to create an eerie atmosphere and a feeling of entrapment. It is intended to raise many questions and offer no answers, only experiences. Ultimately, the story is left without a conclusion, leaving it up to the viewer to interpret exactly what happened.
