The Silly

The below are some of my proudest works, either because they received significant acclaim, had me extremely invested in the project, were just dang fun to work on, or all of the above. In broadcast news, the time to be a bit silly is rare, and usually happens away from the main news cast. Thus if you see a certain reoccurring Sportscaster, do not be surprised.

🏆That’s What I Call a Blitz Promo

My work on this project is primarily in the graphics package I built for this minishow.
However, this promo did win us all a Telly, which is pretty neat, I would say.

Chris Clark Sticker Pack

The mind of Chris Clark is frequently an enigma, which is probably why he’s won so many Emmys. Regardless, when he comes to me with an idea, I know it’s going to be a fun one. He laid this in my lap and said, “Okay, here’s kinda what I want, and its basically 100% graphics,” and I said, when can I start.

I had to put together the perfect combination of visual effects to get Chris and the players looking like JUST the right kind of comic cut-outs.

When I was nearly done, Tina Telep helped me to find and add music and sound effects to truly elevate this project.

We are submitting this for an Emmy in the upcoming season.

My Carolina - Halloween! Open

Collaboration always results in a more interesting product, so our whole department collaborated to put together a segment for our lifestyle show. I was in charge of the show open!

You can watch the entire segment Here!

Blitz - One Amazing Show

Sports shows are a lot of fun to promote, because they can get a little bit wacky. Here’s some wacky, neat effects I got to add to our incredible sports anchor hamming it up.

Weather Facts!

Weather promos don’t have to be boring! Check out this open animation I made for our series of fun facts about the weather!

Here’s what one of the full promos looks like!

This project got us nominated for an Emmy!

Game of Rims - PNC Arena

An oldie, but still a goodie.

Our graphics department was asked to create a “Game of Thrones” Style opening animation for a sports segment. We did our best to mimic the style with a fraction of the budget and time, modeling each of the three local sports stadiums in Cinema 4D.

Looking back, my texturing and camera movements could use some polishing, but I’m proud of my modeling work.

the sincere

Most often in broadcast news, the work produced is geared towards serious, or at the very least, neutral stories. Below are some of the works that I feel exemplify my skills as a designer, that represent well the story or segment they were attached to, and are compositionally clear.

The Still

As with the above motion graphics, these still graphics, typically used in monitors behind anchors, represent a similar collection of graphics chosen for their compositions and creative text work.
